For Karma, daughter of a monk and an ama, life was perfect. Raised in a temple, she was excited to see the big town. That was until she was caught up in a mass arrest and thrown into a Chinese prison with her parents.

When it could not get worse, it did. Her mother and father dead by execution, her salvation was in the hands of a man she did not know in her journey out of hell itself.

Accused of crimes against humanity and the murder of more than 250 prisoners, Colonel Lei Cheng regretted being so drunk that she failed her own suicide. Now, facing an angry world and a court of justice, the last thing that she expected was mercy.

Mercy would come in the form of a second chance arranged by an old enemy. For the first time, her redemption, particularly in the eyes of a child, was in her own hands.

For little Miki, a 6 year old orphan girl facing expulsion from her village for speaking to the wolves, this is the start of her journey toward a destiny that she could not imagine. Accepted into a poor Buddhist temple, she is torn between the life she wants and the agony that her blood demands.

Ama Little Monkey, the girl once known as Miki, has been forced into a life she loathes. Between her Koga (Ninja) birth and her heritage in a temple, she is torn between violence and treachery and the peace she seeks. Along the way, she finds family she never knew she had and a mission that leads her to a destiny that she could not imagine.

She has had many names and is now a woman with a highborn husband and is with child. Her enemies vanquished, it seems that life has taken a turn for the better. Not so fast it seems as the world of Samurai has its own struggles. With new enemies, new responsibilities and old friends, Lady Miki must fight for not just her survival, but for the survival of her soon-to-be son and his place as heir to the Daimyo of Kumi.

For Tony Banner, former Quantum Agent and now the head of Quantum Intelligence, the world has turned strange indeed. Charged with protecting the new Android race and it's technology, he must now deal with the unexpected interest of off world aliens as well as hostile governments on his own planet terrified at the loss of their own power. Critical to this is protecting the young woman named Karma, now the chosen emissary of humanity to the stars.
